  • Introduced the automatic rice polishing machine

  • Started year-round hiring of brewers

1991

  • First brewer in Japan to hire a British citizen

1995

  • Mikio Takahashi of nambu toji (master brewer)

  • First open day at Umenoyado

2000

  • Launched “Tsuki Usagi” sake made using secondary fermentation in the bottle

2001

  • Obtained a liqueur and shochu manufacturing license
  • Opened Tokyo Office

2002

  • Launched “Umenoyado no Umeshu,” a liqueur made with sake
  • Launched “Sanaburi Shochu,” a kasutori shochu
  • Started overseas exports

2007

  • Full-scale launch of “Aragoshi Umeshu,” a sake-based liqueur made using fruit pulp

2008

  • Obtained a miscellaneous liquors manufacturing license

2009

  • Obtained a sweet fruit liquor manufacturing license

2010

  • Hiroji Kitaba of nambu toji (master brewer)
  • Launched “Minori no Sparkling,” a sparkling liqueur

2013

  • 5th president Kayo Yoshida
  • 120th anniversary

2017

  • Changed from a toji (brew-master) system to a team-based sake production system

2018

  • Awarded the Nara Prefecture Overseas Expansion Leading Company (Exports) Award
  • Selected as one of the “Companies Driving Regional Growth” by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry

2020

  • Obtained a spirits manufacturing license
  • Awarded the 58th Shining Women Award at the Kansai Economic and Management Summit

2022

  • Relocated the Head Office and brewery buildings
  • Awarded the Exports/International Bureau Director's Award for 2022, which honors top businesses that engage in exports
  • Launched “Aragoshi Mikku-shu” to celebrate our 130th anniversary
  • Launched the PARLOR Aragoshi Series, “Strawberry” Otona no Kaniku no Numa and “Mikan” Otona no Kaniku no Dressing

2023

  • Awarded Special Recognition in the 15th Japan Marketing Grand Prize
  • Certified by the Osaka Prefecture Food Safety and Security Certification System
  • Launched Aragoshi Ginger (Portion Type) single-serve sake

2024

  • Launched “UMENOYADO GIN,” a Japanese craft gin
